Harvick Takes a Wild Race at Phoenix

Wild. That’s the only word to describe Sunday’s race in Phoenix. It was by far the wackiest race of the season. The first 310 laps were all normal but the last two laps were insane. We witnessed a fight in the garage, a big pile-up coming to the checker and a driver break his winless drought. Kevin Harvick pulled into victory lane after he stole the lead from rival Kyle Busch in the final laps. Harvick didn’t become a factor in the race until the end and his strategy propelled him to victory. We thought we saw the most excitement occur when point’s leader Jimmie Johnson wrecked but we were wrong. This race won’t be forgotten anytime soon. Pole sitter Kyle Busch dominated most of the race and he looked to have the strongest car until the final laps. The first caution of the day came out on lap 16 for Mike Bliss who got into the turn three wall after Matt Kenseth made slight contact with him.
