Eric McClure the driver of the #14 Toyota hit the infield wall hard as the NASCAR Nationwide race was nearing it’s end. Video of the incident can be found below. McClure’s roof had to be cut off the car in order to remove him from it. He was running of the lead lap at the time of the accident.

Driver Eric McClure was reported to be in stable condition and alert Sunday, one day after a late wreck in the Nationwide Series race at Talladega Superspeedway.

Talladega is a track known for wrecks. There have been many pile ups and crashes there over the years, largely because of the track’s high velocity and high banking turns. Today’s Nationwide series race brought another one.
With a couple laps to go in the Aaron’s 312, a big crash led to Eric McClure’s No. 14 Toyota to hit the inside wall at a very high speed.
