David Gilliland Hollywood Casino 400 Race Preview

Statesville, N.C. – David Gilliland heads to the Kansas Speedway this weekend for the 12th running of the Hollywood Casino 400. Gilliland will debut a new look on his No. 38 Long John Silver’s Ford this week. Gilliland is coming off of a career-best finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he crossed the finish line 23rd at the track most of NASCAR members call home. It was his second consecutive top-25 run with Derrick Finley atop the No. 38 pit box and his 10th top-25 finish of the 2012 season. Gilliland currently sits 27th in the point standings.    While Gilliland has a career-best finish of 22nd at Kansas Speedway, the track has been repaved since the last time the circuit raced on it. Therefore, the team will participate in a two-day test prior to the event to acclimate themselves to the newly repaved and reconfigured speedway, which has added progressive banking to the racing surface.
