The NASCAR season is back upon us and it is time to get you caught up with everything that happened in the offseason. Start ‘N’ Park Blog will be going through their list of drivers running the full schedule in 2013 and telling you what you can expect from those drivers in the new year. Today’s entry is the driver of the #29 Budweiser Chevrolet, Kevin Harvick. Driver: Kevin Harvick #29 Sponsor(s): Budweiser/Jimmy Johns/Rheem Make: Chevrolet Team: Richard Childress Racing Crew Chief: Gil Martin 2012 Finish: 8th What’s new for 2013: Gil Martin starts the season as Harvick crew chief after taking over on an interim basis last August. Harvick is gone at RCR after the 2013 season. Mike’s Rank: 13th Mike’s Take: I think this is a bit higher than he’ll actually finish in 2013. Leaving RCR at the end of the year will either allow Harvick to run care free and win big this year or be a giant distraction week to week. I’m going the middle ground on this one, I think at first it’ll be a free for all, but come summer time those questions about 2014 will wear him and the team out. Jason’s Rank: 14th Jason’s Take: The questions about leaving RCR at the end of the year will distract Harvick and his team and they’ll have a pretty-off season. Bad finishes will hurt Harvick and by the time the Chase comes, the team will just about have given up on the season. Brandon’s Rank: 16th Brandon’s Take: Kevin Harvick won late in the year at Phoenix, but since he is in his final year at RCR, I expect him to go out with a bang (or atleast win a few races in 2013). Brittany’s Rank: 18th Brittany’s Take: It’s a lame duck year for Harvick and RCR, he won’t go out with a bang.
