Twins release Rich Harden at his request

Sometimes, the comeback trail doesn't end the way it's supposed to.  That's been the case for Rich Harden this year.  He has been rehabbing his surgically repaired shoulder in hopes of making a return this season.  However, as the date for his opt-out clause came near, it became increasingly evident that Harden was not making the progress he needed to make and he...

Harden has surgery out for season...

For those of us concerned with pitching depth, Rich Harden seemed like a viable alternative.  He's a guy who has battled injuries making his cost reasonable but with a much higher ceiling then any of the other remaining free agents.  Couple that with his familiarity with the front office and it seems to make as much sense as Chris Young.  Unfortunately for Harden and to a...

Rich Harden: Power Reliever?

In the interest of full disclosure, I’m a big Rich Harden fan. To be fair, I don’t get to see many strikeouts by watching my local nine, so he fulfills a need in that respect. There is certainly a mold from which a late-inning reliever...
