Right-handed reliever Jesse Chavez has reached agreement on a $775,000, one-year contract with the Oakland Athletics.
The team made the announcement Tuesday. Chavez's deal is not guaranteed.
He went 2-4 with a career-low 3.92 ERA and one save in 35 appearances over two 2013 stints with the two-time defending AL West champions. He made $500,000.

The Oakland Athletics have decided to recall right-handed pitcher Jesse Chavez from their Triple-A Sacramento minor league affiliate. To make room for him, the organization has optioned right-handed pitcher Evan Scribner to the same farm club. Chavez will toss middle relief for the A’s.

The Toronto Blue Jays sold right-hander Jesse Chavez to the Oakland Athletics on Friday.
The 29-year-old Chavez split this season between Toronto and Triple-A Las Vegas. He was 1-1 with an 8.44 ERA in two starts and seven relief appearances for the Blue Jays.
Chavez is 7-11 with a 5.74 ERA in 152 games for Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Kansas City and Toronto.
