Vargas to have Tommy John Surgery

Jason Vargas was officially off of the DL for 26 pitches before he had to leave Tuesday's game with "Elbow Discomfort."  MRI's today showed that Vargy had a torn Ulnar Collateral Ligament and he is going in for evaluation for Tommy John Surgery.  This is the normal surgery that follows such an injury. The timeline for his return will probably not be until the 2017 season...

CHICAGO, Ill. -- There was some encouraging news coming out of the Royals' clubhouse Monday, as left-hander Jason Vargas had a good throwing session on the side, and could be back in the rotation as soon as Sunday. Vargas looks to get Royals back on track against the Angels

There's something about the final days of June that appeal to the Los Angeles Angels. Los Angeles is on its seventh win streak of at least four games in the latter part of the month since 2005, and it will go for a seventh straight victory Friday night when it visits a Kansas City Royals team that's stumbling after its best stretch of the season. The Angels (44-33) completed a 6...

Jason Vargas: Dissecting His Starts

Jason Vargas has been stellar so far this year for the Kansas City Royals. Much more than many expected. He was projected to be a solid pitcher who ate innings and hopefully end the season with a record over .500 and an ERA under 4.50. But so far, he has pitched like an ace. When dissecting Vargas’ starts, you can see that much of his success is coming from two factors: the amount...

A strong start from SP Jason Vargas has him on top of our weekly must adds

Jason Vargas (SP, KC): Vargas is the first Royals pitcher since Zack Greinke in 2008 to begin the year with consecutive starts of at least 7IP and no more than one run allowed. Greinke finished in the top 10 in ERA and top five in WAR for pitchers in 2008. Numbers don’t lie. I’m not the only one who likes Vargas this week, just ask Chris Meaney. Ryan Cook (RP, OAK): According...

Kansas City Royals making a move

Royals sign pitcher Jason Vargas to a 4 year $32 million dollar deal. ( The Kansas City Royals have had a relatively quite off-season so far and that should be the norm as 2014 rolls around.
