Cardinals scratch David Freese as precaution
The St. Louis Cardinals scratched David Freese from last
night’s lineup as a precaution, as the third baseman was dealing with swelling
in his right hand, according to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com.
The swelling occurred in the same hand that Freese gashed

Freese suffered a cut from the cleats of Norichika Aoki during a run down in the first inning. He was able to stay in the game and ended the day with two hits.
