If MLB commissioner Bud Selig has his way, suds-free celebrations may make their way into Major League Baseball.
Selig has expressed interest in toning down postgame celebrations, saying teams have plenty of other ways to celebrate big wins than by spraying champagne, according to the Los Angeles Times. Selig shared his stance recently during a question-and-answer session, when an image of the Giants celebrating their division series win over the Reds made him frown, according to the L.A. Times.
"This is something I am not happy about -- spraying champagne all over," he said. "I'm not a fan of that."
When asked whether he wanted to stop it, he said he didn't know how, as he's already told teams that he'd prefer they find another way to revel.
"It is something I have talked to the clubs about and will continue to talk to the clubs about," he said. "You want to have great celebrations, fine. But spraying each other with champagne is not that."
Convene a committee! Call in Congress! Tell the local police department to get those dang kids off the grass!
Sounds like Bud is the one who needs a beer.

Celebrating a victory with champagne is deserved....stuffing your face with tobacco on national TV is a disgrace to league and a bad bad example for kids! so is spitting, for that matter.
This type thing should not be an issue for the commissioner.
He is one of the problems with baseball. Long overdue for him to go.
