Grateful Dead's Facebook Game Takes Shakedown Street Online
I don't speak for Jerry Garcia but it's probably a good thing the Grateful Dead's frontman died in 1995, because only over his dead body could one reasonably imagine someone spouting corporate ******** like this in his name. More »

MSU Football Coach Mark Dantonio Now Has An Ice Cream Flavor Named After Him
There are few honors which can be bestowed upon a person that are more gratifying than having their very own flavor of ice cream named after them. Just ask Jerry Garcia. Well, you can’t ask Jerry, but I am willing to bet he thought the whole gig was pretty groovy. And don’t bother trying to [...]

Giants Go for Kazoo Record in Honor of Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia
For some reason many professional sports teams this year have decided to take advantage of having so many people in the same place at the same time. The Cavaliers held a snuggie night and then the Angels later broke their record of most people wearing a fleece blanket at the same gathering. The Dodgers shot for a different record — loudest and longest scream in promotion...

The Jerry Garcia Tribute Night Promotional Ad Is Totally Groovy, Man
Far out, dude. We discussed the San Francisco Giants’ trippy Jerry Garcia Tribute Night promotion previously here at the Sportress, so if you haven’t heard about it yet, please go here for the lowdown. Giants will honor Jerry Garcia on Aug 9
I still remember the day Jerry Garcia died. It will be 15 years ago next month. I was working as a disc jockey for a classic rock radio station in Sacramento. In fact, I was the host of a weekly, Saturday night Grateful Dead show. The news hit me and other Deadheads really hard.
That's why I am so stoked to hear that the Giants are honoring Garcia on August 9 (vs. the Chicago...
