The eighth and latest entry in the "Fastverse," "Fate of the Furious," opens in theaters this week. In it, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren join Dom and the gang for more high-wire stunts and vehicular mayhem. After already adding additional action icons like Kurt Russell and Jason Statham in the seventh edition of the series, we can only imagine what the producers have planned for future installments. Here are some casting ideas they are free to take.

Who better to add to the "Fast and the Furious" movies than Kevin Bacon? Not only is he a great actor, appearing both in small and blockbuster films alike, but his addition would greatly expand the possibilities of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, the party game where players connect actors to Kevin Bacon in six moves or less.

Sean Bean is another actor we'd like to see in these movies. He's played both diabolical villain as well as honorable warrior multiple times in the last four decades. Perhaps he could play Jason Statham's father or Kurt Russell's non-union U.K. super-spy equivalent. Shame his character will have to die though.

As "John Wick: Chapter 2" proved once again, Keanu Reeves is arguably our best action movie actor. So who better to join arguably our finest action franchise? Can you imagine the audience reaction when The Rock or Vin Diesel pulls off some insane stunt and Keanu's character says "Whoa?" Sign us up.

Nicolas Cage has done stunt-driven driving movies before in films like "Gone in 60 Seconds" and "Drive Angry," so he'd slide right in to the "Fast" flicks. Could he play a weary, retired wheelman pulled back in for one last score? Yes. Yes he could.

Tom Cruise is fairly busy with his own stunt-heavy franchises, but surely he could add another one to his plate. Who wouldn't want to see Cruise outrunning a car or hanging from the hood of a souped-up muscle car during a 15-minute set piece?

"Game of Thrones" is ending soon, which means Lena Headey will be available to play a villain of the highest order. The series is getting its first female villain with Charlize Theron, but Headey could bring a Cersei-esque adversary to the series, and we're all for that.

How has Walken not shown up in these movies yet? Make him and mentor figure or a mechanic with some sort of prototype engine and get the cameras rolling.

The king of "That Guy" character actors, William Fichtner could join up as a slimy crime lord or tough federal agent. It's been a while since Fichtner's been in a big-budget blockbuster. It's time that changed.

You could have Martindale play against type and be a nurturing figure, sure, but that's no fun. Give her some thugs for sons and make her the matriarch of a chop shop empire, and you've got yourself a villain that you'll miss when she gets busted.

After playing a no-nonsense detective on "The Shield," she could easily play a no-nonsense CIA station chief who has to work with Dom and the gang after terrorists get a hold of a dirty bomb and are smuggling it across the globe in a Maserati.

How perfect would Melissa Leo be as the tough-as-nails boss to Kurt Russell's shadowy government agent? Heck, she could be the president in a movie, and it's up to Dom and the gang to get her re-elected using a mix of grassroots canvassing and driving cars through buildings at breakneck speeds.

He's spent a career playing a tough guy, and the "Fast" films are where all tough guys belong. Villain or good guy, Durand would add some authenticity to one of the inexplicable, gonzo fistfight scenes that these movies always contain.

Arguably the best sniveling bad guy working in Hollywood today, Mendelsohn always brings it and would be perfect as a technocratic crime boss the gang has to bring down.

Another great character actor, you could drop McNairy (again, whose first name is Scoot) into the next movie as a washed-up NASCAR driver who joins the gang, and we'd be first in line for tickets.

Pitch: Kim Dickens is a small-town mayor dealing with a gang of drug runners. After a teen who previously bonded with Dom suffers an accidental overdose, the gang teams up with the mayor to stop the pushers once and for all.

Priyanka Chopra as an Interpol agent tracking a group of jewel thieves led by … Priyanka Chopra. Do a set piece where Vin Diesel chases her in a Ferrari through the Louvre and call it a day.

Future "Fast" movies need more no-nonsense detectives who go rogue in order to crack a case, and Samira Wiley would obviously handle that role with aplomb.
Francois G. Durand/Getty Images
Danson's been taking a lot of serious roles recently, and we'd like to see him have some fun again. We can probably get him to play an aging hippie who helps the gang during a complex chase through the Mojave Desert, right?
Gabriel Olsen/Getty Images for AARP
Laura Dern can and should do anything, so why not have her lead an all-women carjacking ring and crack one-liners before a knockdown, drag-out fight scene with The Rock or Michelle Rodriguez.
Wendy Redfern/Redferns/Getty Images
John Noble could play a zany scientist with a secret formula that bad guys need to make their cars go faster than normal. Dom and the crew could rescue him and get some faster car of their own, leading to a high-octane chase or helicopter showdown.

The "Fast" films could always use another charismatic British villain to play against The Rock or Vin Diesel. Who better to do that than the most charismatic and British actor in the world?

Samuel L. Jackson

We'd love to see Samuel L. Jackson join the "Fast" films, but really only if he played Nick Fury and it worked as a crossover with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. How else are these characters going to get to outer space in future entries?
