Virginia Tech HC Frank Beamer Dancing in a Sombrero (Video)

It’s not everyday you see Virginia Tech’s Head Coach Frank Beamer dancing in a Sombrero. He was doing this as part of the festivities for the Hyundai Sun Bowl against UCLA on Tuesday December 31st at 2:00 p.m. eastern. His team is 7 point underdogs against the Bruins so I’m glad to see they are loose and having fun.

WATCH: Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech players dance at fiesta

The Virginia Tech Hokies are having a good old time in El Paso as they prepare to take on UCLA in the Hyundai Sun Bowl early next week. Tonight, the team had a chance to party it up a bit in El Paso, and the sombreros came out — so did Frank Beamer’s dance moves: In ElPaso pic.twitter.com/XrzMKHdDpd — Coach Stiney (@BryanStiney) December 27, 2013 I also enjoyed the Tech...

Virginia Tech Football: big recruiting week for the Hokies

It’s been a big week for the new coaching staff in Blacksburg with two big commitments and it will hopefully become even bigger on Friday when 4-star RB Shai McKenzie will decide where he will play college football, with Virginia Tech being a serious contender. This Thursday Virginia Tech received a verbal commitment from 4-star defensive back Ashton White from Washington D.C....

Virginia Tech Football: What’s next for the Hokies?

For the most part, the 2013 season is over for the Hokies. Yes, there is still a chance to make it to the ACC Championship Game, there is still a rivalry game and there is still a Bowl game to be played, but most fans are looking to the future. So what’s next for the Hokies? A new quarterback, more experienced offensive weapons, and another Bud Foster defense. Quarterback This...

Virginia Tech Football: How the Hokies can salvage their season

Before the season began, nobody gave the Hokies much of a chance to have a bounce-back season (Except for Phil Steele who had them ranked #12). After the first three games, things were not looking much better. A blowout loss to Alabama, two close games to C-USA opponents, and a decisive victory over an FCS school was not exactly the resume Hokie fans were hoping for going into their...

Virginia Tech puts Lane Stadium inside Bristol to show its size

Last week, after it was announced that the Hokies and Volunteers would be battling at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2016, Tennessee tweeted out a pretty cool photo of Neyland Stadium photoshopped inside of Bristol to show just how massive the race track really is. The photo went viral pretty quickly. Today, Virginia Tech basically did the same thing, substituting Neyland with its own...

Virginia Tech unveils new camouflage helmets

The Virginia Tech Hokies have been changing their helmets a lot lately and on Wednesday they unveiled their new camouflage helmet for their September 21st game against Marshall.  I’m actually pretty indifferent to this helmet; it doesn’t look bad, but it certainly isn’t great.  Hopefully they bring out some special jerseys to wear with them to make it complete. Consider this a tribute to the millions of college football fans watching this while laying down comfortably on their couch. Virginia Tech’s Michael Cole intercepted Clemson QB Tajh Boyd from his backside in the 1st quarter on Saturday, pulling off what might be the best takeaway we see all year. He slipped, he fell, he [...]
