Paul Finebaum’s Twitter feed is reporting that Volquest has reported that Derek Dooley has been fired as the Tennessee Volunteer’s Head Coach of the football team. Dooley and the Vols are coming off a loss to the Missouri Tigers and have not won an SEC Conference game all season. Volunteer fans have been growing restless. Volquest reporting Dooley out at UT. — Paul Finebaum (@finebaum) November 11, 2012 Rumors of John Gruden to take over Dooley’s position have been swirling across the Internet for weeks. Dooley succeeded Lane Kiffin who succeeded Phillip Fulmer.

  • id hate to see coach dooley go so soon,he came into a major cluster flock after lame kiffin dropped by an took everything he could get his paws on.i did question his clock mngnt.he is tryin folks.
  • Sorry to disagree captain. He sat on 2 TOs and 40 seconds yesterday with 2 good WRs hoping an inept defense would survive in OT. Unacceptable. It seems he's over his head. Third year SEC record is worse than his first two. Can't afford to wait. I'm sure he's a good guy but he's not a god coach.
  • very well said gerald.
  • Not a "good" coach...
  • No offense, but whats it matter. The Vols havent been relevant since the greatest quarterback in their history graduated. Tee Martin!
  • What does it matter? The Vols have not been relevant since the greatest quarterback in their history graduated. They miss you Tee Martin
  • Dooley has "NEVER" had a winning record in any season as a head coach. I think UT should be required to keep him since they were stupid enpough to hire him in the first place.
  • Who Cares? It's just football people.
  • it would only make sense if they have a replacement coach with a winning history and philosophy that will mesh with ut
  • @buckinga ga will lose
  • Pee on GA
  • @ reesesohn then dont comment
