XAVIER MUSKETEERS RUMORS & GOSSIP
Juco transfer forward Chris Cantino announced that he was leaving Xavier Wednesday night on Twitter.
Tributes have been pouring in for the 26 victims of the Sandy Hook elementary tragedy in Newtown, CT this past week. Xavier’s basketball team became the latest to alter their uniform,by replacing their own school name with Sandy Hook on the front. They wore the jerseys on Saturday in their game against Wofford. Head coach [...]
CINCINNATI --- Freshman Semaj Christon (Cincinnati, OhioWinton Woods HSBrewster Acad. N.H.) has earned Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week honors for the second straight week.
Christon had a tremendous game on Saturday at Purdue in his first true road game as a Musketeer. Christon had a career-high 25 points on 8-of-12 from the field and 8-of-8 from the free throw line to go...
Dezmine Wells could be headed to a happy ending. He reportedly will enroll at the University of Maryland less than two weeks after he was offically expelled by Xavier, and could be on the court for the Terrapins at the start of the 2013-14 season. Wells, 20, became the collegiate equivalent of a free agent when Xavier expelled him Aug. 21, citing a "serious violation" of...
I love the Xavier Musketeers.
I always have been a fan of the Musketeers … although now I can’t say that I always will be.
The past eight months have left me questioning who Chris Mack’s squad is and for what they stand.
Of course there was the Crosstown Shootout brawl. On that day, the rivalry and animosity of the annual Xavier-Cincinnati game became bigger (and uglier) than...
Sophomore Dezmine Wells has been expelled from Xavier University.
From Xavier University;
The Xavier University Conduct Board (UCB), made up of faculty, students and administrators, found Xavier sophomore and basketball player Dezmine Wells responsible for a serious violation of the Code of Student Conduct. The punishment for the violation is expulsion from the University.
The latest repercussions from the Crosstown Shootout have come down. Per Koch, the game will move to US Bank Arena for the next 2 seasons. This year's contest will be played on December 18, 19 or 20 on one of the ESPN networks. The teams haven't played at this arena since the Bearcats used to play there in the 80s. I'm assuming that Cincinnati will be the 'home'...
Mark Lyons is looking for a new home for his senior season of collegiate basketball after his decision to leave Xavier. Kansas may be on the radar for the former Musketeers star who averaged 15.1 points per game, second-best behind Tu Holloway. Lyons shot 39 percent from long-distance this past season. Redshirt junior guard Mark Lyons won't return to Xavier, which is now missing four of its starters from the team that reached the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament last season.
Coach Chris Mack announced the mutual decision on Monday, after they'd talked about how the shooting guard needed to change. Mack and Lyons were at odds during the season, when the guard repeatedly...

CINCINNATI --- Xavier University head basketball coach Chris Mack announced today that redshirt junior guard Mark Lyons will not be returning for the 2012-13 season.
After our end of the season meeting with Mark it became apparent that a change for both parties was the right thing moving forward, said Mack. During our meeting expectations were outlined for his fifth and final season...
You people need a reflection session!! Image from musketeermadness.com
As if going 1-5 since the infamous Crosstown Shootout Brawl with the rival Cincinnati Bearcats wasn’t enough for Xavier student basketball fans to stomach, Xavier Dean of Students, Luther Smith, sent a letter to the student body stating that they would be future games this season if they do not attend a “reflection...
The Hamilton County District Attorney's Office is reviewing the tape of the ugly brawl that occurred during the Cincinnati-Xavier game Saturday to "determine whether any criminal charges are appropriate."
I guess the Bearcats wanted to win the fight after losing the game.
