NORTH CAROLINA STATE WOLFPACK RUMORS & GOSSIP
Until NC State senior Scott Wood showed off all of his jerseys, who knew the Wolfpack had gone through so many different looks?
North Carolina State freshman guard Rodney Purvis plans to transfer, a person familiar with the situation said.
Purvis informed the coaching staff Monday, the same day junior C.J. Leslie announced he would enter the NBA draft, the person told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the school hasn't made an official announcement.

RALEIGH, N.C. The C.J. Leslie era is over at North Carolina State, although it's hard to pinpoint when it began.
Leslie played in 99 games for the Wolfpack, but only approached his talent base on a few occasions. When Leslie was at his best, in flashes, it was quite breathtaking.
At 6-foot-9 and 200 pounds, the long-armed and supremely athletic Leslie should have been a rebounding...
North Carolina State's C.J. Leslie says he's skipping his final season and entering the NBA draft.
Leslie made the announcement at a news conference Monday morning.
The 6-foot-9 forward was the preseason Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year. He averaged a team-high 15 points to go with 7.4 rebounds while shooting nearly 52 percent from the floor. He was a third...

Former NC State head basketball coach Sidney Lowe has been arrested for failing to pay taxes in 2009, 2010 and 2011 ... the final three years of his time with the Wolfpack.
Ahhhh social media. Gotta love it. Unless you don't. When Thomas De Thaey left the NC State program in November he was frustrated. He tweeted about lack of playing time, but cited his father's health as the reason for his departure. He went back to Belgium to pursue a professional career. Apparently though, he wasn't quite done. That's what happens when you...

RALEIGH, N.C. -- C.J. Leslie may finally be turning a new leaf.
As the most ridiculed basketball player along Tobacco Road the last two years, and with good reason, Leslie is showing signs of maturity, growth and even the instincts of a great player. Look no further than last Saturdays rout of visiting St. Bonaventure as the latest and perhaps greatest example of his ascent.
NC State wore special uniforms during Tuesday’s game against UConn at the Jimmy V Classic that paid tribute to former Wolfpack head coach Jim Valvano. The red jerseys were designed with nets around the collar and shoulders, meant to represent the way Valvano wore the winning net around his neck after his 1983 Wolfpack won the national championship by defeating Houston’s Phi Slama...
DON'T EVER GIVE UP
Tweet Jim Valvano spent eighteen seasons as college basketball head coach (Bucknell, Iona, North Carolina State) with the best years coming during a ten-year span in charge of the NC State, where he complied a record of 209-112 and led the ACC school to the national championship in 1983. Next Tuesday NC State [...]

Oh yeah, he hasn’t played for NC State since 1992.
Googs and another NC State alum, Chris Corchiani, were ejected today by referee Karl Hess during NC State’s loss to Florida State. What did the former Wolfpack basketball players say? No one knows for sure at the moment, but it is a pretty safe bet that the magic word was involved.
