DePaul forward Tony Freeland plans to transfer
DePaul forward Tony Freeland is transferring to tend to his ailing grandmother back home in Los Angeles.
Freeland, a junior, was already out for the season because of a shoulder injury. He played in 57 games and made 15 starts over two years, averaging 6.8 points and 3.8 rebounds.
He says he's ''going home to help my ill grandmother'' and that he wants to finish...

DePaul Loses Brooks & Freeland for the Season
DePaul men's basketball coach Oliver Purnell announced today that junior forward Tony Freeland will miss the 2011-12 season after being sidelined with a shoulder injury. Freshman guard Macari Brooks will sit out the 2011-12 season after a ruling by the NCAA on his status. Brooks will be able to participate in competition starting with the 2012-13 campaign and have four seasons of eligibility.
