DePaul is improving, although you might have trouble knowing it from their Jan. 1 game against No. 1 Syracuse, but if you look deeply into the box score you see the forward Cleveland Melvin is the real deal, scoring 23 points.

DePaul men's basketball coach Oliver Purnell announced today that junior forward Tony Freeland will miss the 2011-12 season after being sidelined with a shoulder injury. Freshman guard Macari Brooks will sit out the 2011-12 season after a ruling by the NCAA on his status. Brooks will be able to participate in competition starting with the 2012-13 campaign and have four seasons of eligibility.
