A few rumors have started flying from the west coast that Kyle Wiltjer is in serious considerations of transferring to Gonzaga. The 6’9” Wiltjer is from Portland, Oregon and committed to the University of Kentucky without even visiting the campus first. After being a key reserve on the 2012 National Championship team, Wiltjer was expected to be more of a force and possibly a starter for the ‘Cats this season. Wiltjer continued to struggle with his defensive presence, and strength issues as the season progressed. The one area where he was a consistent threat was his outside shooting, and even that has slumped considerably as he and Kentucky fell to Robert Morris 59-57 in the first round of the NIT. Wiltjer launched a three-pointer as time expired, which bounced off the back of the rim and was swatted away. Personally, I’ve always loved seeing Kyle Wiltjer in a Kentucky jersey and I’ve always rooted for him to do well. He’s a great kid and comes from an awesome family. Kyle appeared to love Kentucky when he was a recruit, and was a huge part in last year’s team winning the national championship. His defensive struggles really hurt this team, and his body appeared to not be ready for the physical nature of this college season. I had heard rumblings that the coaching staff was not happy with the way Wiltjer had prepared for this season. I really didn’t expect to hear anything more about him until basketball season comes around again. If Kyle Wiltjer is gone to Gonzaga, I genuinely wish him the very best in his college career and beyond. As the 3-point assassin on last year’s team, I was so happy to see him doing well and enjoying life at Kentucky, along with winning the national title. As more news comes available, I will pass it along.

John Calipari and Kentucky are what is wrong with the one-and-done

Just one year ago, the Kentucky Wildcats were getting set to begin a six-game winning streak that would culminate with the school’s eighth National Title. Today, they are no longer contestants in the NIT, after being beaten by Robert Morris. Not going to call it a huge upset, as Kentucky wasn’t a very good team to begin with, but we will go as far as to say that it helps support...

Kentucky's NIT loss more shameful than fluke

Nothing drives home a lesson like the sting of embarrassment. John Calipari knows it. On Tuesday night in his hometown of Moon Township, Pa., Calipari stood watch as 3,500 fans the largest crowd to fill the Sewall Center of Robert Morris University in years stormed the floor to celebrate his Wildcats' 59-57 defeat in the opening round of the National Invitational Tournament...

Did USC Football or Kentucky Basketball have the worse season?

On Tuesday the defending National Champion Kentucky Wildcats went all Michigan losing to Appalachian State by losing to a team more known for their sweet nickname (Bobby Mo) than their basketball program. For Wildcats fans this is a disappointment of Waterworld like proportions. Earlier this season the USC Trojans were a preseason favorite to win the National Championship. They had...

Video: Robert Morris Knocks Kentucky Out Of The NIT, Fans Storm Court

It’s been that kind of year for Kentucky. The defending champs never really got going with or without Nerlens Noel, ultimately getting left out of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in 22 years. And now, to top it all off, the Wildcats lost tonight to Robert Morris in the first round of the NIT. Yikes. It was a wild scene.

John Calipari featured in Papa John's NCAA tournament promotion despite not making NCAA Tournament (Picture)

Clearly, the ad wizards over at Papa John's are going to regret their decision of putting Kentucky head coach John Calipari as one of the faces on their NCAA tournament promotion ad campaign. Since Kentucky didn't make the tournament this and then got subsequently shocked by Robert Morris in the NIT last night. Check out the below photo from the e-mail campaign that...

Will Kentucky Fans Invade Rupp Arena For Louisville’s Tournament Games?

Kentucky fans have no use for NCAA tournament tickets this year. Their team will be playing in the first round of the NIT tonight on the road at Robert Morris in Pittsburgh, PA. I assume most UK fans will be in hiding until next season, considering John Calipari’s team was easily the most disappointing team in the country this season. But it turns out that there may be some Kentucky...

Video: Robert Morris fans storm the court after defeating Kentucky

I think this is a good way to shut the people up that believe the Kentucky Wildcats belonged in the NCAA Tournament. NIT 8 seed Robert Morris upset Kentucky 59-57. This is one of two court stormings we believe to have ever taken place in the NIT: NIT? Who cares?!? This was much deserved.

Colonials upset ‘Cats in NIT, 59-57

The roller coaster of a season for the Kentucky Wildcats came to a final free-fall in Moon Township, PA on Wednesday. The Colonials lead for most of the game, while the ‘Cats looked disinterested. Robert Morris jumped out to a 10-0 lead to begin the game, and never looked back. Despite numerous Calipari timeouts, the ‘Cats rarely showed any signs of life. The one guy that was...
