LOS ANGELES - AUGUST 27: Abner Mares celebrates his victory against opponent Carlos Fulgencio on August 27, 2009 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Jacob de Golish/Getty Images)
In this special pre-fight feature with Abner Mares, you'll get an up close and personal look at Mares, his recent in the ring history, and learn a little bit more about who he is. Presented by Showtime, this Mares vs. Morel video preview is a fun, quick look at Mares, a fighter who has been making a name for himself in the past few years, but is still on his way up. Take a look. Mares points out that in the first Joseph Agbeko fight, if the referee had taken a point away early, he would have changed his tactics and then not gone to the body. He also says that he beat him cleanly the second time. Another interesting point that Mares raises is that, and many people don't know this, the first 10 fights of his career were at super bantamweight, and then he dropped down. So he's returning up there but it's not completely unfamiliar to him, and he should be plenty comfortable to begin a quest towards a world title in a second weight division. Enjoy the Showtime video preview for Mares-Mo...
