The Braves hat must have thrown them off. Monday morning the NBC’s Today Show had a reporter out on the streets of London asking random tourists and locals what their impressions were of Queen Elizabeth II and her role in the Olympic Games opening ceremony, specifically the bit she did with Daniel Craig.  Everyone interviewed thought it was tremendous, especially that American tourist who bore a striking resemblance to former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield. Except that was Holyfield…only NBC didn’t realize that. Here’s the clip from the show (hint: he’s the black guy)… Evander Holyfield Unrecognized – Click here for another funny movie. Honest mistake, right?  It’s not like he was a former Olympic medalist…oh wait, he was…or one of the greatest heavyweight boxers in history…umm, that too…or involved in one of the most iconic moments in sports history where he had part of his ear bitten off….uh yeah, you get where I’m going with this. For his part Holyfield was able to laugh the whole thing off, as evidenced by this tweet he sent out after the show… Not recognizing one of the all-time greats like Evader Holyfield is shameful on NBC’s part—luckily for them they’ve screwed up so much during these Olympics that this will fly well under the radar.
