Manny Pacquiao took to the media to state the obvious: Floyd Mayweather will never fight Pacquiao¬ despite the public’s wish for the two fighters to meet over the past several years (via ESPN.Co.uk). “I’ve stopped thinking about him because I don’t think he will fight me. I’ve been waiting four years already,” Pacquiao said. Although you can trace both fighters back to being at fault at different times when fight negotiations took place, with Pacquiao losing two-straight fights and being laid out flat on his face in his last bout against Juan Manuel Marquez, Mayweather’s interest in the bout has understandably dropped. Mayweather’s usual excuse is that Pacquiao didn’t agree to random drug testing leading up to a possible bout. Pacquiao’s usual reason for not facing Mayweather are strictly monetary ones, as the two have never met eye-to-eye on the way the money from a possible fight would be split between the two.
