After getting a standing ovation while sitting ringside for Broner vs Malignaggi, ESPN.com is reporting that the Barclay Center is showing strong interest in hosting one of Floyd Mayweather’s final four bouts. During the Broner vs Malignaggi bout, Mayweather sat with Barclays Center and Nets CEO Brett Yormark and Bruce Ratner, and at some point, I’m sure the question about Floyd fighting in Brooklyn came up. Ratner is the man responsible for bringing the Barclays Center to Brooklyn, and sources say he’s very interested in helping Brooklyn secure the financial heaven that a Mayweather weekend can bring the borough. “There is certainly interest in both the ownership and the building to bring Floyd here,” the Barclays source told me.
