Dykstra Sentenced For Grand Theft Auto
Former Major Leaguer Lenny Dykstra was sentenced to three years in prison by a Los Angeles County judge for his role in a grand theft auto case.
After the sentencing, Dykstra was immediately remanded to custody and he walked into the court's back room.
Prosecutors said that Dykstra and two other co-defendants tried to lease and then sell high end cars from numerous dealerships by claiming credit through a fake business. The other two co-defendants still await sentencing.
Dykstra, a former New York Met and Philadelphia Phillie, has had numerous legal issues over the past year. Last April, police found Ecstasy, HGH, and cocaine in his home. Dykstra pleaded not guilty to those charges.
He also pleaded not guilty to indecent exposure charges after he exposed himself to various women he met on Craigslist.
Dykstra also filed fro bankruptcy three years ago, after he claimed he owed more than $31 million and only had $500,000 in assets.
