Having swept the Washington Nationals last week, the Atlanta Braves will be looking to pay out against their division rival once again this weekend as the two clubs meet in a three-game MLB betting series getting underway on Friday night. Overall the Braves have won five straight games against the Nationals, including that three-game sweep in Washington early last week when Atlanta pitchers gave up just six runs in the three contests. Atlanta is 7-3 over its past 10 games against Washington, with the OVER/UNDER going 3-7 for totals bettors in those matchups. The Nationals were expected to contend with the Braves in the NL East race this season, but instead Atlanta finds itself holding down a huge lead in the division heading into the weekend action. On the updated NL Pennant odds at the sportsbooks the Braves find themselves set at 11/4 odds, behind just the 9/4 Los Angeles Dodgers. (See also World Series odds as provided by Bovada). The Dodgers will be in Philadelphia to take on the Phillies this weekend, with Los Angeles 3-1 against Philadelphia so far this season. Overall the Dodgers have won seven of their past 10 games against the Phillies for their supporters on the MLB betting lines, with the OVER paying out in four of their last five meetings. In the NL Central race this weekend the St. Louis Cardinals will be at Wrigley Field to face the Chicago Cubs, while the Pittsburgh Pirates play host to the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Cincinnati Reds visit the Milwaukee Brewers. The updated NL Pennant odds at the sportsbooks have the Cardinals pegged at 7/2, with the Pirates at 5/1, and the Reds back at 7/1.
