• Broncos Sign Receiver

  The Denver Broncos made a few roster moves on Tuesday.

  Backup WR Matthew Willis (foot) was placed on injured reserve. To take his place on the 53-man roster, the Broncos signed LB Diyral Briggs off their practice squad. To take Briggs’ place on the practice squad, the Broncos signed WR Eron Riley.
  
  Briggs (6-3, 230), a second-year player, spent time with the San Francisco 49ers over the past few seasons. He appeared in four games in 2009 and played in one game this season for the team. The 49ers signed him last year as an undrafted free-agent.
  
  Riley (6-3, 210), a first-year player, signed with the Baltimore Ravens practice squad last year. He was most recently with the Carolina Practice squad earlier this season.

• Patriots' Branch Leading the Way

  New England Patriots WR Deion Branch was traded away to the Seattle Seahawks early during the 2006 season, but was traded back to the team recently.
  
  Branch has already become a factor in his first game this season for the Patriots.
  
  With under two minutes left in the fourth quarter, the ninth-year player is leading the team in receptions with seven. Branch, who is wearing the number 84, scored on a five-yard pass from QB Tom Brady, where he was wide open in the fourth quarter.

• Ravens' Pro Bowl TE Todd Heap injured

  A helmet-to-helmet collision with Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather left Ravens Pro Bowl tight end Todd Heap on the ground and drew a 15-yard unnecessary roughness call on New England with 8:40 left before halftime and Baltimore leading 10-7 at Gillette Stadium.

  Heap left the field under his own power and was replaced by rookie TE Ed Dickson.

• Ravens Work Out Punter-8:27 a.m.

  The Baltimore Ravens worked out free-agent P Dave Brytus on Thursday, a source confirmed.
  
  Brytus originally signed with the Ravens in May of 2009 as an undrafted free-agent, but did not make Baltimore's final roster coming out of training camp. Brytus also worked out for the San Diego Chargers last year, but was not offered a contract.
  
  The Ravens also worked out free-agent P Glenn Pakulak late last month.
  
  Both Brytus and Pakulak are left-footed punters, so is New England Patriots rookie P Zoltan Mesko, who they will face on Sunday.

• Vikings Sign CB; Place CB on IR

  As first reported by FOXSports.com on Wednesday morning, the Minnesota Vikings were expected to sign free-agent CB Frank Walker to a one-year deal. The veteran defensive back wound up signing his contract and was able to practice with the team.

  To make room for Walker on the 53-man roster, the Vikings placed starting CB Cedric Griffin (knee) on injured reserve.
  
  In addition, the Vikings released TE John Nalbone from the practice squad and signed CB Marcus Sherels to the practice squad.

• Vikings Expected to Sign CB-11:03 a.m.

  As first reported by FOXSports.com, the Minnesota Vikings are expected to sign free-agent CB Frank Walker. The veteran defensive back is expected to sign a one-year contract, a source said.
  
  Walker, 29, was originally selected in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. He played for the Baltimore Ravens the past two seasons and spent one season with the Green Bay Packers.
  
  Walker is expected to take the roster spot of starting CB Cedric Griffin, who suffered a torn right ACL during Monday night's loss at the New York Jets.
  
  Walker fits in as a nickel back.

• Texans Take a look at Six Players-8:03 p.m.

  As FOXSports.com first reported on Monday, the Houston Texans were scheduled to work out WR Dexter Jackson.
  
  The Texans worked out the speedy receiver as well as five other players on Tuesday, a source confirmed.
  
  In addition to Jackson, the Texans worked out WRs Derek Hagan, Demetrius Williams, and Reggie Brown.
  
  Only Brown has experience in the West Coast offense which Houston uses.
  
  The Texans also worked out QBs Colt Brennan and Jarrett Brown.
  
  Brown had a terrific NFL Combine workout and solid string of practices during Senior Bowl week earlier this year, but did not wind up getting drafted.

• Eagles To Work Out Veteran WR-7:58 a.m.

  The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to work out free-agent WR Kelley Washington on Tuesday, FOXSports.com has learned.
  
  Washington (6-3, 218, Tennessee) was with the Eagles in the preseason and was one of their last roster cuts prior to the start of the regular season.
  
  Washington, who’s known in scouting circles as an excellent special teams player, is also capable of handling a role as an inside or outside receiver.
  
  Philadelphia has struggled in special teams coverage, so Washington could help them in that area if they decide to re-sign him.
  
  Philadelphia has five receivers on their 53-man roster, but rookie Riley Cooper (concussion) missed last week’s game at the San Francisco 49ers.
  
  Washington, 31, was originally selected in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals and has also played for the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens. With Baltimore last season, he saw a lot of time as the team’s third receiver.

• Broncos' Dawkins Injured-3:59 p.m.

  Denver Broncos starting FS Brian Dawkins (knee) was injured during the fourth quarter of today's game at the Baltimore Ravens and won't return. Second-year S Darcel McBath also left the game with an unspecified injury.

• Broncos finally score — 2:32 p.m.

  The Denver Broncos struggled passing the ball for most of the first half against the Baltimore Ravens. However, they finally broke through on a 42-yard touchdown pass from QB Kyle Orton to WR Brandon Lloyd with less than two minutes left.
  
  The team lost rookie WR Demaryius Thomas (concussion) for the game.

• Baltimore secondary getting it done again — 2:19 p.m.

  The Baltimore Ravens weren't supposed to have a good secondary this season since they were going to be without starters CB Domonique Foxworth (knee-IR) and FS Ed Reed (hip-PUP list). But despite those absences, the Baltimore's pass defense has been very solid so far over four games.
  
  During today's game against the Denver Broncos, QB Kyle Orton, who is leading the NFL in passing yardage, has just 55 yards with just over two minutes left in the first half.

• Ravens RB Rice looks healthy-1:51 p.m.

  Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice was limited by a bruised knee during last week's win at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
  
  That's not the case today against the Denver Broncos. Rice already has eight touches with just over 10 minutes left in the second quarter. Rice also scored on a one-yard run.

• Ravens TE Dickson a Vertical Threat-1:18 p.m.

  Baltimore Ravens rookie TE Ed Dickson had been quiet through the team's first four games, but the third-round pick started to make his presence felt today against the visiting Denver Broncos.
  
  Dickson, who some scouts felt was the best vertical threat at tight end available for the 2010 NFL Draft, a 58-yard pass down field.
